So we are half way through the 12 Days of Christmas and I, Yo Le have the distinct pleasure of bringing you some kick arse copywriting strategies. (as determined by you of course…) :)

… before we get into those strategies, let’s get you a brief little explanation of what the heck copywriting really is.

Copywriting is simply the use of words to sell a person, business, opinion or idea. Most of you that are reading this are selling some type of business opportunity, info product, marketing system, or coaching program right?

If you’re still here, I’m assuming that is a yes.

Copywriting Strategy #1 – Talk straight at your prospect like it’s “just you and me sitting here.” That’s the type of language you want to use… and if someone’s sitting there with you, you’re not gonna get all fancy smancy on them and use big words that abandon your normal vocabulary. That’s just straight silly!

Copywriting Strategy #2 – Always be specific. Don’t just assume that your prospect understands what they are getting. Be clear, concise, yet simple at the same time. Here’s an example: If you are giving a series of videos in a bootcamp…

Copywriting Rule #3 – Always weave stories in when possible. People don’t want to sit there and read a bunch of facts or bullets. Facts tell and stories sell.

I remember hearing this one story about this kid at band camp that was flipping burgers at Burger King for his 1st job. He was your typical shy nerd (who could kick anyone’s butt at Halo!) Well out of luck, in his first 30 days of working there got employee of the month simply because he understood that all sales lead to a back end…

So what was he doing you ask? He was asking everyone that he waited on, “Would you like fries with that?:)

Copywriting Strategy #4 – Show understanding of the problem and demonstrate how your product or service is the best way to solve it.

Listen up — Do you really know what your customers want? Hint: If not, you need to seriously re-consider what your target market is. You gotta put yourself in your prospects shoes and bend over backwards to give them what they want NOT what you want to sell them.

Copywriting Strategy #5 – Recognize and handle objections. This actually ties in directly with rule #4. These are the 5 things that your prospect is always thinking in there head:

1. I don’t believe you.
2. I don’t need it.
3. I don’t have enough time.

4. I don’t have enough money.
5. It won’t work for me.

Make sure that you deliver the goods and address these in your sales copy.

Copywriting Strategy #6 – Tell your prospect Exactly what you want them to do. This is absolutely crucial and can not be ignored if you plan to crank out the moolah!

If you want them to go comment, tell them to. (BTW, I think it you’d be as cool as ice if you would comment on this post.)

See that floating button that says digg? Make sure you click on it or I’ll hunt you down! (kidding of course…)

Wow, that one with all the pretty colors… You know, the one that says Buzz. If you were me, you’d smile so hard your cheeks hurt if I pushed that button for YOU right? :D

Ladies, I can guarantee that you won’t be the forgotten hero ever again if you click that Tweet button.
